Anche Steam attaccata dagli hackers, è grave!

Anche Steam è stato attaccato dai cracker che, passando dal forum, sono riusciti ad accedere al database del noto negozio di DD. Ne ha dato notizia Valve stessa inviando email e facendo apparire un avviso all'apertura di Steam.

Valve non sa ancora con precisione quali siano i dati rubati, ma pare che i cracker abbiano avuto accesso a praticamente tutti i dati sensibili degli utenti sul forum e a diversi account di Steam stesso. Il rischio è che abbiano rubato i numeri delle carte di credito. Per questo la società invita a monitorare le attività relative e cambiare la password di accesso ai suoi forum (quando tornerà online) e a Steam.

Ecco il messaggio completo diramato dalla società (certo che potevano farlo multilingua):

----------------------------- Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users:

Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.

We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.

We don't have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.

While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.

We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.

We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.

a me non hanno comunicato niente.. comunque veramente non c'è più da fidarsi a lasciare il numero di carta nei negozi on-line!

Io ero collegato ieri sera mentre giocavo a Gish appena scaricato dall'Humble Bundle quando ho ricevuto il messaggio (per inciso avete ancora 3gg di tempo per acquistare l'Humble Voxatron Debut, c'è sempre un buon motivo per fare pubblicità e l'humble bunble la merita!).

Fabio non c'é neanche da fidarsi se vai coi soldi in tasca veramente, basta prendere le dovute precauzioni

si ma se fai attenzione mentre arrivi fino al negozio va tutto liscio, su internet non puoi mai sapere, l'unica precauzione da usare è tenere la carta sempre scarica e ricaricarla solo prima di acquistare qualcosa!

Chi usa la carta di credito in sostanza è fottuto, come il sottoscritto.

Al momento l'ho collegata su pochi account, ovvero Steam, iTunes, Paypal e Amazon... Speriamo che gli altri 3 tengano duro.
